
Unix Shell Scripting Part - 6 Metacharacters: Part 6 of the shell scripting or programming teaches you $( ) - Dollar Parenthesis | - Pipe ; Semicolon Greater Than Double Greater Than metacharcters. There are multiple examples provided in this video to understand the use of the metacharacters in shell programming. $() Is used for command substitution in command line. | is used to make output of left side command as input of right side command ; is used for command grouping. i.e., it allows to execute multiple commands in single command line separated by semicolon. Greather Than is used to redirect output to a file Double Greater Than is used to append a file. Stay tuned in to get updates on new lectures.
