A cloudy but fun day around the Lafayette sub as Dad and I drove all the way to Beaumont.
0:00 - At the mouth of the Dayton yard, we missed this UP freight with four UP diesels.
0:20 - A BNSF freight with a sweet horn crosses the highway and pulls into the Baytown sub. The rails were very squeaky because of the tight turn!

2:28 - While driving up the line, a KCS freight caught us off guard, so we chased it back to Dayton to get it in town. This was also the first time that I saw a mid-unit DPU on a train.

5:42 - A BNSF freight was speeding up the line, so we chased it to around Nome at a spot of dead grass.

8:47 - A KCS freight pulls up from the Beaumont sub and moves by. While moving by, an NS freight begins crawling up to get ready to leave.

10:06 - A BNSF grain train moves through making a nice three-way meet with the switch train and the NS train. We saw BNSF 1016 a few months earlier in Dayton on a big lashup.
