Awesome weekend! With little school homework, Dad and I were able to do a lot of railfanning around Houston on the first weekend of March, including going to different places at odd times. Enjoy!
0:00 - On Friday 3/1/2013, we drove up the Lufkin sub slightly and saw this UP freight stopped in the siding in Splendora. The light was great for several sunset shots.

0:47 - On Saturday 3/2/2013, we went to the Lafayette sub in the later afternoon to do some evening railfanning. First up is an Emirates and some work cars around Huffman on the Beaumont sub.
1:03 - Some cool action at the end of the Dayton yard; a UP local sitting outside the yard and a super-rare light run with a CSX and a CN!

2:16 - Yikes! A UP stack/juice train caught us off guard, so we chased it to Dayton and got it just in time! I had to point the camera away from the train since it was already coming once we got to our spot.

3:17 - A cell phone video of the same train. This one point in the forward direction of the train to give an idea of what that side looked like.
3:41 - In Liberty, a KCS freight with a couple of KCSM units rolls through. The sun made them look almost completely light-green!
KCSM 4650 - GE ES44AC
KCSM 4565 - GE AC44CW
KCS 4005 - EMD SD70ACe
4:32 - Once the KCS train left, a rare EB UP freight started leaving from the nearby siding, so chased it up the line and got it in a ditch!
UP 8367 - EMD SD70ACe
UP 7079 - GE AC4460CW
7:03 - After eating supper, the light was too low to catch any trains, so we left Liberty and began driving home. While in Huffman again, a stack train catches us off guard!
7:52 - Sunday 3/3/2013 was the biggest day of the weekend as we drove all the way to Galveston to the railroad museum! Unfortunately, the Hurricane Ike damages from 2008 still lingered as some of the museum pieces were still damaged, but there were still many pieces still available. The museum also had the two refurbished Santa Fe F7 units to replace two other special F units lost in the hurricane.

10:44 - Looking around some model trains on the inside now with a very short video.
12:42 - While heading home, we saw some other train-related things on the road, including a couple of CSX units in Galveston and a drive through Pasadena with some switchers.
UP 4369 - EMD SD70M
UP 7973 - GE AC45CCTE
14:14 - Last-minute! While driving past the IAH airport, we decided to do a little plane spotting at the runway! While we didn't see any huge planes, we saw some unusual tiny airplanes and even a wind vortex! Note that the first and third videos may not be in the right spots as I don't have the exact times of the videos.
