This title is a bit of a tongue and cheek but i would like everyone that does my classes or any classes for that matter to click on the video and get their alignment right. Young girls especially who need to get on a self awareness path and are confused by all the icons vs our practice on the mat or at the gym will really benefit from this kind of knowledge. This video will briefly explain (yet not exhaust!!!) the subject of how to tuck the tailbone under in order to create core connection and spinal alignment without rolling the hips out and compressing the spine or locking the sacrum. We need to create space and length in the lower back as well as stability as a whole. Any alignment can be done to an extreme in either direction and here i am trying to demonstrate the danger of "over" tucking vs under extending the tailbone.
As for cute posing for photos there is absolutely nothing wrong with cute posing but posing is something we just do for a quick photo and its best to know the difference between what we see on instagram or in Victoria Secret catalogues and how we should move on our mats. Same alignment applies to weight lifting. Overall always pay attention to your core and to your strength and power.
The proper alignment will protect you from future injuries or it can help you on your recovery path from past injuries.
